Flag of Hong Kong

The flag of Hong Kong is red which is a festive color for the Chinese people.  The shade of red is the same as that of the Chinese flag.  In the center of the flag there is a depiction of the Bauhinia Blakeana flower.  The flower was discovered in Hong Kong and is used as a harmonizing symbol.  The flag was adopted on February 16, 1990.
