Flag

The flag of Grenada contains the three
Pan-African colors. The flag has a red border with six
stars to represent the six parishes of the country. In
the center there is a red circle with a yellow star to
represent the capitol, Saint Georges. On the side
of the hoist there is a symbol of a nutmeg, the country’s
principal crop. The red on the flag stands
for courage and vitality. The yellow color
represents wisdom and wealth. The green symbolizes
the vegetation and agriculture in the country. The
flag was adopted after gaining independence from Great
Britain on February 7, 1974.
