Egypt Flag

The flag of Egypt contains three bands and the Egyptian national symbol. The three bands are red which represent the period of Revolution which was brought by an army group to power after King Farouk.  In the middle is a white band that symbolizes the 1952 Revolution that ended the monarchy without bloodshed.  At the bottom of the flag there is a black band that symbolizes the oppression of the people of Egypt at the hands of the Monarchy and British colonialism.  On the center is the “Eagle of Saladin” with a shield with the colors of the flag on its breast.  The flag of Egypt was adopted on October 4, 1984.
