Amazonas Flag

The flag of Amazonas was adopted on January 14, 1982.  The flag contains three bands colored white and red.  On the top of the hoist is a blue rectangle with 25 stars.  The twenty five stars represent the municipalities that existed on August 4, 1897.  The largest star represents the capital Manaus.  The red on the flag stands for the struggle to overcome and the white symbolizes hope.
